No time to piece or applique quilt tops?
Love the look of quilted pillows and comforters but don't sew? Many different items can be quilted to reflect your
personal style. For example:
- Comforters, duvets, bedspreads and throws
- Pillows and bolsters
- Furniture upholstery
- Vests, aprons, jackets
- Quilted curtains and valences
- Sleeping bags, shopping bags, baby bags, backpacks, totes
Suggestion 1: Purchase two flat sheets (cotton or flannel) and batting
to size. Have the layers quilted in an overall or large freehand design and you have an instant
custom comforter. Use a different sheet on each side for two comforters in one!
Suggestion 2: Purchase several yards of cotton or flannel fabric and
batting to size. Have the layers quilted in the design of your choice. Lay out, cut, and sew
pattern pieces for vests, jackets, totes, etc.
Suggestion 3: Purchase several yards of white fabric and batting to size.
Have the layers quilted in white with a wholecloth scene as an heirloom baby or wedding gift.
Suggestion 4: Purchase several yards of home decorating fabric or denim
and batting. Have the layers quilted in the design of your choice. Cut and sew pieces to reupholster a
chair, footstool, cushion, or sofa.
